A boudoir shoot is more than just beautiful photos—it’s a celebration of you. Whether it’s your first time or your fifth, preparing well can make all the difference in how you feel and what you take away from the experience.
Here are my top 10 tips to help you get the most out of your boudoir session—and walk away feeling empowered, confident, and absolutely stunning.
1. Embrace Your Why
Ask yourself: why are you doing this shoot? Whether it’s to celebrate a milestone, create the ultimate gift, or simply honour your body as it is right now—reminding yourself of your ‘why’ sets the tone for a powerful experience.
2. Trust the Process (and Your Photographer)
You don’t need to know how to pose or be a model. That’s my job! I’ll guide you through every pose and expression so you feel comfortable and confident throughout. Just show up as you are—we’ll take care of the rest.

3. Plan Your Outfits with Intention
Choose 2–4 outfits that make you feel sexy, comfortable, and you. Think beyond lingerie—bodysuits, oversized sweaters, leather jackets, or even a simple white sheet can be incredibly sensual. If you need help, we have a client wardrobe at the studio you can explore.
4. Book Professional Hair & Makeup
Glam can be a game-changer—not just for how you look in your photos, but how you feel. Our professional makeup artists know exactly how to enhance your features for camera-ready confidence. You’ll feel like the queen you are.
5. Hydrate and Rest
Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your shoot and aim for a good night’s sleep the night before. Your skin will glow, and you’ll feel more energized and relaxed for the session.
6. Avoid Tight Clothing Before Your Shoot
Tight bras, socks, or jeans can leave marks on your skin. Try wearing loose, comfy clothing to the studio to keep your skin looking smooth and photo-ready.

7. Don’t Worry About Weight or “Fixing” Anything
You don’t need to lose 5kg or change your body. You are already beautiful, just as you are right now. We’ll pose and light you in the most flattering ways—and I promise, you’ll be amazed at how incredible you’ll look and feel.
8. Bring Personal Touches
Add something meaningful—a partner’s shirt, a wedding veil, a love letter, or your favourite perfume. These little details can elevate your session and make it uniquely you.

9. Come with an Open Mind
Even if you’re nervous (totally normal!), be open to trying new things. You might surprise yourself with how powerful and free you feel by the end of the shoot.
10. Celebrate Your Images
After your session, you’ll get to see your gorgeous images during your reveal. Whether you choose an album, wall art, or digitals, give yourself permission to celebrate the woman in those photos. She’s brave, radiant, and real—and she deserves to be seen.
Final Thoughts
Preparing for your boudoir experience isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up, being present, and allowing yourself to shine. My job is to create a space where you feel seen, empowered, and beautiful from the inside out.
